The University of Illinois was a pioneer in Human Factors research since 1948. In January 2000 a BS degree in Aviation Human Factors was established at the University of Illinois. The Masters program was established for the fall semester of 2004. The Masters program encourages Human Factors study across disciplines from the health field to cognitive engineering. Many students still get involved in aviation studies as they become involved in existing projects.
